Hello, I have purchased a Sony Vaio VPCEB32EN laptop in January, which comes with a VGP-BPS22 battery.

Everything seems fine on this laptop, except for one.

Whenever I use my laptop on battery power, it goes from 30% or around that to 10% in around 2 minutes, so before I know it, the green power light flashes, and I get warnings telling me that battery is low etc.

I have Battery Care Function enabled at 80%. But overall, the battery life is bad too. Two days ago, I was reading a pdf document only at lowest LCD brightness, and power profile changed to "Power Saver". Even then, the battery went from 80% to 10% in about 1hr 50 mins, and even less if I watch a 480p movie from my Hard Disk at 50% brightness, close to about 1hr 10 mins.

I had bought this laptop knowing that the battery life won't be great, but it seems a bit too less to me. Can someone shed some light on this, and on possible ways to fix this?

Did you buy the computer new or used? It sounds like you have a worn battery. The control center is telling you that the battery is rated as "poor" so I'd recommend trying another battery. If you have a Sony store nearby, they may let you try out a battery from one of their display models to test out.

To avoid paying retail, though, I recommend going to ebay and buying a GENUINE battery there.

Well, no, actually. I bought it as a new laptop. Also, the control center says Battery status is excellent.
