So i have a sony vaio VPCF111FX notebook and the fan is running very loudly and the laptop is overheating. What can i do to stop this overheating? I have an i7 processor and it is usually no more than 10%, never been over 50%. Please help?
PS: I am also running windows 7 home premium 64 bit if this helps.

1. Roll back to the previous version of BIOS. This IS possible, at least on Vaio S.
2. Call sony and explain the situation - they should either have you called by an engineer or take your notebook for repair... -

The above posts assume it's not overheating but the fan is simply stuck running on high. If your computer really is overheating, then you probably need to get it serviced. The temperature of the vent air should give you a clue whether it is, and there are several utilities that can tell you the CPU and GPU temps.
