    Andrew,

    Excellent review of the X505!
I've been thinking about adding one of these two my collection since I first saw it, as it would compliment my A197XP by being ultra-portable.

Do you know if it ships with any extra bits in the US compared to the UK? As far as I can see, it comes alone with not even a case over here.

I would be surprised if it didn't come with a case in the UK. With the X505 Sony is all about presentation. One thing I didn't mention in the review is that in the box you get a nice padded vinyl case for both the X505 and for the add-on cards. The entire presentation of opening the X505 is very Apple like in nature -- it's presented well and makes it feel special, from package to product.

Abaxter, how sure are you that the sony uses XBrite. Because it does not say anywhere at sony, or anyone who has bought the system say that it uses XBrite. Are you sure it even uses XBrite at all????

I owned x505. It's real cool, very nice even it's accessories and carrying cases.
It's LCD have no XBRITE technology but screen is very bright and has wide view angle. I love it.
