    Hi guys.

I have a Vaio Z11 (i5 M460) from late 2010, I think it is. The laptop is obviously very dated but I still like it, I'll admit. I came across this used Z from August 2012 (which were used for 11 months and since then not). It comes with the sheet battery and PMD plus the 512GB ssd for 860 USD.

Is it worth getting this laptop now? It's also dated, obviously, but it has the i7 3612QM which I feel would be quite an upgrade.

If the laptop is in very good condition and works well, I'd say go for it. I have a VPC-Z2 (almost the same as the SVZ), and besides the sh*tty SSDs that fail every 2 years, I love it and don't feel the need to upgrade. Regarding the SSDs, some Z2 owners have no issues, and the newer drives in the SVZ might be more reliable anyways.

This is a pic of it:

Seller says it was used for 11 months and since then not very much. It looks like new, allegedly (will look at it before buying ofc).

I've been wondering something. I have two desktop monitors, one HDMI and other one VGA. Since the SVZ has both ports, is it possible to connect both monitors, like a dual screen? and have the display of the laptop turned off... or is the PMD needed for this? Also; do you have the sheet battery? How much more battery can be obtained by using it, is it really twice as much, i.e. 13-14 hours (max)?

You should buy it. You need the PMD to have both monitors connected, only one external with the laptop at the same time. I have 3 monitors connected, 1 on the VGA and 1 on the HDMI of the PMD and 1 on the HDMI of the laptop. I could also use the laptop screen as a 4th one but I don't use it, I keep it off. The sheet battery doubles the battery, but more likely like 8-9 hours the most. Maybe 10-11 max without wifi internet surfing.
It is still one of the most powerful laptops around

Thanks for the reply. You've also owned a VPCZ11, how would you say they compare "noise wise"?
