I'm running a Z12 with 263.14 custom Nvidia drivers. However, when trying to edit footage in Premiere Pro CS6, I find much of the playback stuttering. I'm also unable to utilize GPU acceleration with Pro since the drivers are out of date.
Does anyone else seem to be having this problem? Any thoughts on how to improve performance?
In general, is anyone running CS6 on their Z1?
It's kinda disappointing considering CS5 worked well with the Z.![]()

The old hybrid drivers, even the latest community drivers that were hybrid-able, have a too old cuda version for adobe premiere's mercury engine.
Use gpusniffer.exe in the premiere directory to debug. If it tells that your gpu is not in the Named list, add the name string (supposedly Geforce GT330M) to cuda_supported_cards.txt.
If it still does not work or tells that cuda is too old, the only thing you can do is apply the z bios hack, disable the hybrid gpu switching mode and install the latest vanilla nvidia geforce drivers (you need to add your hardware ids to the inf file before installing).
All these things are very well documented here in the forum. -
Pyro, I can't seem to find the Bios Hacking thread you mentioned. Do you know where I can locate it?

Have you tried the gpusniffer tool? What is the output?

Question, I put "GeForce GT 330M within cuda_supported_cards.txt, but GPUSniffer still states its not in the named list. Why is that?

Great, got it to work! (Just a matter of Capitalizing "F" in Force)
But even with Mercury running with GPU acceleration, the stuttering persists. I have 8 gigs of RAM. I feel like the CPU is bottle-necking (It gives 25% within Task Manager).
What do you think, Pyro? -
Anyone?

Why should users have to implement workarounds like this? It's a nonsense and Sony's driver fiasco is a disgrace.
I think there's only ever been 1 official driver update for my 2010 VAIO Z. 1!
Vaio Z + CS6 = Bad Perfomance
