I've seen on sony sites etc that one of the Z come with dual SSD hard drives.

I have a Z26GN with the standard spinning disc harddrive but am looking to put an SSD in.

I was just wondering does this mean the Z series laptops have room for 2 harddrives? Thus allowing me to keep my existing one in and add the new one?

Also with regards to SSD I've been told the intel X-25 80gb is a good choice.
I was wondering is there anything better than this?
And what do sony put in the Z series themselves?

The dual SSD are 1,8" SSD. You can't have two 2,5" hard drive in your Z.

oh great thanks. and with regards to the drive itself. Intel x25-m(gen2) 80gb is a good choice? combined with windows 7 64bit

It is possible to use two 2.5 inches harddisks. However, you need to give up your DVD drive. I am using two X25m 160G in my Z now. If you don't need large storage space. I think one X25m 80G or X25m 160G is sufficient and you don't need to give up your DVD drive.

oh okay great. I think I'd prefer to keep my dvd drive and just replace the harddrive inside for an Intel X25 80gb. im a bit annoyed. stocks are limited in australia and new zealand. and in both countries it seems like they're all on order with new shipments arriving early november... so not sure whats going on there maybe the new firmware or something i have no clue..
