    I don't think it is.

    But ths should apply to all Vaios with the WWAN module - definitely the SZ7 series (private experience).

    According to the manual Virtualisation is impossible too and people have found ways to enable it...

    You are right. But this problem sort of appears to be hardware bound instead of a software/bios issue as with the virtualisation.

    Apears is the cucial word.

    It may be that Sony incorporated something to tell the computer not to allow it to run without the battery.

    I wonder if someone knows what is going on there...
