So I have a thread going over in the Gaming/GPU forum... but there seems to be some confusion and not many answers. So I did a quick search and did not see much about overclocking the Z specifically... so here goes...

It sounds like the two best options out there are EVGA Precision and MSI Afterburner. Any comments about the two, or other recommendations?

    Thank you :D.

I used evga precision, worked well, never had a problem. just make sure you know it only OC'd when the laptop is plugged in. That got me the first time i used it

I recommend EVGA Precision 1.9.4 and not 2.0.1, you can overclock more with the older version.

My GT 330M is constantly running at 605/1331 for GPU and shaders and 880 for mem.

It can get higher but I don't think it makes a difference.

I definitely prefer MSI Afterburner, it's just slicker presentation wise and a little more user friendly. Otherwise they both use the same underlying core (RivaTuner).

What extra functionality does afterburner and EVGA precision provide?

I use NVidias system tools which simply adds an overclock panel to the nvidia control panel. I got my settings stored there and they are automatically loaded when using the 330m, without an additional process/software/tray icon. When the card is idling, it is running at 135mhz anyways.

I check temperatures, gpu load stats, clock rates etc. with GPU-Z which is portable and supports logging.

    Well nothing :)

it's just my habit since nvidia system tools had failed to install before, with nVidia driver modified by sony for the Z. But now I'm running the nvidia driver version 266.35, I'll give a new try for the system tools.

I use EVGA Precision. All of them work well (precision, afterburner and system tools). I do find the Nvidia Control Panel annoying to work with, so I prefer a seperate interface for OCing. But like it's been said before it all comes down to which will install and work and that all of them run off Rivatuner.

    880 memory 0.o thats wicked.

    Im have been running

    618 / 1360 / 815

for a long time and dont think I can go much higher.

I wonder if lowering core/shader will allow higher memory? and if.. what would be better...

EDIT: Im sorry for redirecting people but I just created this thread with new results and a small theory:

Apologies for stealing the thread for a quick question. Is there a utility that can undervolt the Intel HD graphics? I figured if I couldn't play games on it, then I should probably undervolt it to make best use of my battery. IIRC EVGA is only for NVIDIA cards.
