    Hi
I was looking for the more information on the wifi and WAN adapters on the Z 690/790.

    a. What is the wifi adapter? Is it Intel 5100/5300/5150/5350 or something else?
    b. What is the wireless WAN adapter (website indicates only support for verizon in the CTO model? Is it Gobi or something else?

    Thanks in advance.

    A. Z690/790 have Intel 5100 AGN. As far as I know, Japanese Z4x CTO is the only model that offers the 5300 AGN as an option.

    B. Yes, it's for Verizon WWAN, not sure if it's Gobi. I think yes. How do you check for that? I can check it on my Z for you.

Wi-Fi is Intel 5100 half-height (very small/short; only Intel 5100/5300 come in that size currently AFAIK) mini PCIe.
WWAN is indeed "Gobi" (Qualcomm UNDP-1). Gobi supports "CDMA2000 1x, 1x EV-DO, W-CDMA (HSDPA and HSUPA), and GSM/EDGE protocols" and GPS. In CDMA versions, SIM slot is not present in Z. Switching support for various providers is done by loading appropriate firmware into card. Currently in US Z comes with Verizon as provider.
