    Hello,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me figure out what is happening and if there is a way to fix it :)

    I have a Sony Vaio Z (VPCZ1) with i7 processor and 4g ram

Whenever I play a game on it (for instance: starcraft 2) occasionally the game will really start to slow down for a minute or two (the game even tells you "your computer is slowing down the game"). Then it will pop back to normal.

I thought it may be related to CPU getting too hot; so I bought a chill pad; however, has not seemed to help.

Thanks for any advice; it is pretty annoying!

Is your thermal control strategy on balanced or performance mode?

Check in VAIO control center under power mangement and power options.
See what thermal control strategy is selected.

Ahh thanks. That was balanced. Let me give it a try on performance mode.

Thanks for the tip! I was worried I had started to burn out my CPU lol
