I have only played very briefly with my new Vaio Z, but I have noticed a tendency of the screen to dim itself. I think I may have established the pattern, if I cover the sensor, causing the keyboard backlight to turn on, the screen dims.

Curiously enough I just did it and now it is not detecting the light and the screen has stayed dim (if I try to adjust brightness it says it is already on max). It just detected the light and went back, but what is with this dimming, is it normal, and why?

    Thanks :)

There is the automatic brightness setting for the display in VAIO conrol center.
