    Vaio Z VPCZ1290 USB Ports

    I was just looking on the Sony Style website and saw pictures of the vaio with only 2 USB ports. Does it have two or 3 on the VPCZ1290 model?

    There are three. The picture they have in the Specifications section (at Sony Style USA anyway) appears to be the wrong model. Older VGN-Z model.

    Three ports, confirmed.

    BTW, I too though it had two :confused: I read the thread and "found" the third port :D .

    It's 3 USB 2.0 ports by default, however you can opt for 2 USB ports and a firewire port with CTO.

    weird that the z12 manual doesnt include the i.link option anymore although it is available for CTO models...

    just looked at sonystyle.com, seems that in the US there is no i.link available for the 1290x... in europe you can configure either 3xusb2.0 or 2xusb2.0 and i.link which is a 1394/firewire 400 port.

    Yeah, and in Canada you can get the awesome "Metal Mosaic" lid! That option is nowhere to be found on the USA CTO page. I wish the available options were a bit more expansive and consistent.
