I have done an extensive search on the caption problem but it seems that no one has found a solution to make the Fn keys for brightness in Sony Z work under Windows XP, am I correct ?

They work fine for me... running XP SP3 on a Z11VN/B.

You need to make sure that you follow the instructions on Sony's site for installing the drivers and Sony utilities in the correct order after you install XP. If you do that, your brightness keys will work fine. :)

The zoom keys don't work though because that's a function of Vista (I personally don't care about that).

Stupid site makes you sign in just to see the info...

    Here you go:

You can get the drivers package from here:

    ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/OS/XPDOWNGRADE/Z11/Z11_XP_DRIVERS.ZIP

And the utilities package from here:

    ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/OS/XPDOWNGRADE/Z11/Z11_XP_UTILITIES.ZIP

    Hope this helps! ;)

Ok. I found a solution finally. First uninstall the Sony Event Service and restart, then re-install it. It will work then.
