Just performed a successful XP downgrade on my Vaio Z520, but have noticed that on this copy of the Vaio Silver Desktop Theme/Appearance doesn't exist.
I had it on my SZ and loved it over the XP Blue. Is there a way to get it back? I still have the restore discs from the SZ.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
Cheers.

i don't think the silver desktop theme that you are referring to is specific to vaios,
i'm guessing you're referring to this: http://i27.tinypic.com/10f752f.jpg
try right clicking on your desktop>properties>appearance and then look for somewhere to change it to silver
i did a quick google and found this:
"The metallic theme is one of three versions of the Luna Theme, the others are olive and blue. If you have the others, but not the silver metallic, then the file that produces it is probably corrupt or missing. That file is:
C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna\Shell\Metallic\shellstyle.dll
You may be able to fix it by typing SFC /SCANNOW into the start run window and hitting enter. That will repair and replace lost system files." -
Thanks, Brawn!
All three Luna themes do indeed show up and I was able to change it to the silver metallic. -
no problem
glad to help!
