Hi - new UK member with a Z series qu.
I need a small and fast laptop. I bought a MacBook Pro but I'm not getting on with it so looking at a Z series.
I don't need a DVD drive and I have my own SSD so I want the base Z series, i7, WWAN & 8GB ram. If I buy a VPCZ11V5E will I be able to add my own Crucial C300 SSD which is a standard 2.5" size?
Sony aren't sure. What do you think?

This is a HDD model, right?
If yes, then yes - you can switch the HDD to 2.5" SSD without problems.
If you want to add the SSD drive, and also keep the HDD, then you will need more components to do so, but this has been covered on the forums as well - so it is definitely doable -
Hi - yes, this is the HDD model which oddly has no DVD (which suits me fine).
Great that it's a simple swap. Think I'll buy it and return my Mac.
I won't keep the HDD in the laptop, I just want to use my SSD which I already own.
My SSD is a Cricial C300 so I believe it can run at 6GB and SATA3. Any idea if the Sony can take Sata 1, 2 or 3?
Thanks -
SATA 2 and 1 only
