    Vaio Z auto brightness question

    Has anyone noticed that when you have auto brightness on that the screen brightness constantly changes depending on the site you are on ( white background or black) it gets pretty annoying.

    Yes, this because the light sensor receives the light from the main LCD when you are in dark environments. I don't understand how could Sony's engineers let it happen. Sensor should have been placed on the mainframe :(

    I only have this problem when I have a TV running in a dark environment (no other light source) - my S screen brightness reacts correspondingly to the brightness of the image on the TV which is annoying but understandable.

    However - brightness is never affected by the image on the laptop's screen at all!! I always wondered how they made it that precisely, although the sensor is on the main body.
    Surprised to hear it is different on the Z.
