    Hi,

I have had a Vaio Z540 Laptop since Jan 2009. Its really an awesome laptop..but lately, its heating up a lot more than usual. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience cleaning the fan on the vaio Z ?

    Thanks in advance
    J

I took mine apart, following the service manual, basically just removed the keyboard and blew out the fan with canned air. It helped for a while but the problem seems to be getting bad again. I would replace the fan but it costs $100 and I don't want to send my computer to sony for repair.
