Hi I am about to buy this Z from HK:

    Sony VAIO VPCZ128GG - Sonystyle.com.hk

I was wondering how the international repair service works as I spend about 2/3rds of the year in the UK and it would be great if I could use my warranty in the UK. Also is HK the cheapest country to buy the Z from? I looked at the prices in JP and the UK and both are much more expensive than from HK.

You will find that the Sony International Warranty that comes with your Vaio from HK will only be warrantable within the Asia Pacific region.

Okay found out for anyone interested. The international warranty is valid for any country with a sony service center. So I can buy the laptop in HK and get it repaired under warranty for free in the UK.
