So, my Vaio Z 555 DN is over heating when ever I play even a video.
The screen first goes blank, then the little speed light goes out, and then the laptop resets.

I have no idea what to do, it is out of warrenty, but this is the first problem i have had with it, should i take it in to sony?

I have already, upgraded the bios.
I had upgraded the bios earlier this year, and the over heating started after, not directly after, but soon, I had only upgraded the bios to sonys default version, since then I have updated it to the most resent on here, and nothing has changed.

I hear the fan, it scales up and down with the laod, so I know thqat and the sensor are working.

I am running windows 7 Ultame in 64bit, all appropraite drivers installed and up to date.

I have emailed sony, but they say I have to call in.

I looove my z, when I buy a new laptop it will be another z, They are so far the best laptop I have used.

    The screen is wonderfull, esspecially.

I really hope some one can help me,

    Also,
I wonder if anyone has a link to the default bios that comes factory set on the Z555D/n

I am wondering if going back to that will fix it.

Thanks everyone in advance, this is my first post, but I have been on this forum for years, one of the best places for laptop tech.

    Thanks all for that aswell.

You should look first in what is directly related to heat in a computer : the cooling system. If you never cleaned it there is probably dust into, you can clean it with dry air, disassembly should be easier for cleaning but required at least a tutorial if you never did this.
Replacing thermal paste should be good too, but do not do this alone if you never did before.
Did you upgrade your graphic drivers ?

Another way to prevent your overheating is the use of a notebook cooler.
