So, I have owned Fujitsu LifeBook and also ASUS W3V (both for approximately 3 years) and both of their batteries died, and when I bought new batteries they just won't save the power (motherboard failure?).... I don't know exactly what I did wrong....

With the upcoming Z I want to be very careful as to prevent from this failure to happens again... you guys know anything about this and tips maybe? they will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Sony come with battery care software. When you activate it it will charge your battery up to 80%. From Sony 'This will improve the battery life'.
I had a TZ and used this function for more than a year, the battery is still perfect. Normally I will deactivate it when I know I will use battery next time to make it charge to 100%.

yes use the battery care option if you will be near outlet most of the time anyway.. charge your battery fully before you first turn on your laptop and even than keep it plugged in for first 2-3 start up/shut downs :D (usually d/l window udpates > rebooting those times anyway)

The best thing to do, from what i have heard is to simply not have your battery in the laptop when using outlet power for extended periods(e.g. at home).

This will save the life of the battery as it will reduce the amount of time it is used...

The problem with this solution is that not ALL laptops are designed to stay flat without the battery inserted, but luckily the SR indeed is. My old thinkpad R52(or 51? i forget) would be wobbly on the table without the battery...

The problem is not with the battery, my previous 2 laptops failed to restore power even when I've changed the batteries to new ones.. I don't know what's wrong :(
