Hi All,
I am trying to ship my vaio Z back to sony because im not exactly satisfied with the purchase, but the box that it originally came with is damaged. (mother threw it out + 4 hours of rain = damaged)
Anybody have any ideas on how to get another box to ship it back with?
thanks

you can use any box that will do the work I believe. But this is a return so I don't know about it.
why aren't you happy with it? -

Yes, a plain UPS box will be fine. They just require the original black Sony box the laptop accessories came with etc - packaging - stuff

I would not ship the laptop back in any box. Call Sony back and have them send you another box. Those boxes are designed so the laptop is cushioned against drops and bangs, as the fedex guys will throw the box around and drop them, and stack stuff on top.

The outside brown box doesn't matter. But if the black box, the one that had the Z in, is damage...then I don't know. They say they want all original Vaio packaging. Call and ask them. I'm sure that box doesn't matter that much anyways if you're really unhappy with your purchase. They won't charge you some ridiculous amount just for the box.

I always keep the box during the return period. Even if everything seems fine on day 1 or even day 2/3, you could discover something a week later. Also sometimes when you think you can live with something, you may realize a few days later that you paid a lot of money & can't live with it (like a noticeable scratch).

I keep the box for at least a year, or as long as the warranty. If I have storage I don't throw it away. Boxes are handy when moving or reselling.
