Hello,
I have a question about the behaviour of my Vaio Z.
The configuration is: I7 620m, 256SSD, 8GB Ram, Win764
When the laptop is on external power all runs good, but when i cut the laptop from power to go with it sometimes the laptop shuts completely off.
After this you cannot boot up the laptop on battery mode, only on external power. To solve this problem I have to disassembly the battery and put it in.
Cn this be an bios issue or something?
-
I have experienced the same issue two or three times (since April 2010). I have discovered it the other way round too - notebook running on battery power and suddenly turning off when connected to external power supply.
Haven't figured out reason resp. a solution for this. -
Probably not your problem, but maybe related...
I was running into this issue when I had installed, I think it was Dameon Tools. One of the included drivers/software tweaked something so that the Vaio was not booting properly. It froze very quickly after Windows would boot (upon loading the program I believe)... But what was very weird is that it would not switch power sources, such as your problem.
Unplugging the power cord would shut it right off with brand new battery at 100%.
Fortunately for me I was able to diagnose the problem pretty quickly (the freezing made it pretty obvious) and loading one of the Windows save points made it all better.
Like I said, surely not your exact problem, but maybe this will help someone get you closer to a solution. -
Today I have had the problem
Vaio was on external power, then I want to take it with me an it shut off
This issue is very annoying when you do some work with PASW and forget to save.
Is it maybe a bios error?
Vaio Z shuts off
