    Hi all,

I just wanted to ask for ur opinion guys.. is the 512gb version of the VPC-Z1x worth the extra $1k ? Isn't that kinda steep? I mean.. i think the 256gb would be better value for money since the 512gb is still not big enough to eliminate the need for an external 2.5" disk?

Also isn't the 512gb version quad ssd? Isn't that supposed to be more difficult to upgrade with non-sony ssd? Or am I wrong on that?

    What do u think guys?

    thanks,
    anestis

If it is worth is up to you to decide.
I paid it and its really fast US-users who want the fastest didnt have the choice as the 512 was the only quad model.

It's crazy fast and lots of storage for me backup by an external drive.
For most people I think it is too much, because thats the price of a good laptop.

Well actually that depends on you. If you do not mind spending extra 1k$ then go for it.

Yes the Quad SSD 512gb is faster than dual or Tri ssd setup but a dual ssd setup is still way faster than a normal HDD.

So the 256gb is more value, but if you just want the best you can get then get the 512.

In any case the difference between a dual and quad ssd setup is nowhere near as drastic as between hdd and ssd, keep that in mind :)

I have this 512 model and the previous 256 gb model. Its an outstanding laptop, no regrets, I am downright afraid of the day it breaks. Not because of price, but potential downtime. 256gb was not quite enough, with this one I have some working room.

Also I have the old Z for back up.
And, just in case, I still have the SZ.
