i have a Vaio Z1VGP and i must say its a really good laptop
however the battery is really bad now. like it will only last 30mins not even with a full charge on low power usage.
do sony offer a way to optimize the battery? (such as that of apples powerbooks?)
also i read on this forum that some vaios cant use non sony batteries without disabling something. however i cant seem to find that program on my task list.
so i was wondering if its safe to buy a random battery off ebay?
thanks

There is no way to optimize a lithium ion battery. All that the Apple does is reset the "full charge" level to whatever max voltage the battery currently charges to.
I would never buy a battery on eBay unless you know absolutely that the brand will work in a given laptop. -
where would i be able to buy a trustable brand for my vaio?
i live in Sydney, australia, and the sony one is VERY expensive.
would it be ok to buy from an ebay store? -
any help guys?
