Hi all, I've tried searching and I've looked through the owners thread briefly but I can't seem to confirm what type of VRAM the GT 330m in the Z11 is. All specs listings seem to be inconsistent!

If someone could point me to a screenshot using GPU-Z to verify, I'd be very appreciated!

Reason I ask is it seems the new Macbook Pro 15 inch models come with GDDR3, and I have a hunch that the z11 is just DDR3.

Doh! I was really hoping the Z was GDDR3! Guess I'll wait for the exact specs of the GPU on the Macbook Pro to be released. It'll be interesting to see what the extra throughput is like, hopefully not too much as I really like everything else on the Z.

It is a dealbreaker though if the performance gap is huge :(

Here's the link to the MacBook Pro (now available): http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/performance.html. You'll note that, even though it does, use GDDR3, it only comes with 256 MB of dedicated memory instead of the Z's 1 GB.

The Macbook Pro 15 inch model has 2 configurations, 1 with 256meg and the other with 512meg.

My only experience with the differning VRAM was with the 8600gt models, and the GDDR version of the card performed an average of about 15-20% faster.

True, but even at its highest level of dedicated graphics memory, it's still only half of the Z's.
