    Hello guys!

Since three days my vaio Z11 touchpad is behaving crazy..

a left click if recognize as a right click and sometimes the pad stopped to word :(

Can this be a driver issue or is there something defective and I should end up in sending the Z to Sony?

why dont you try to reinstall the driver first, see if it helped, if not then it might be hardware issue.

btw did you try regular USB mouse?

I've always been surprised that people don't complain more about the Z1 touchpad, as I've had the same problems on more than one Z1.

My touchpad behaves erratically from time to time. No apparent cause. I've tried adjusting Synaptics settings, uninstall/reinstall driver, use Synaptics driver (not Sony) and, finally, seems like two environmental conditions make touchpad behave strangely:

    1) Cold temperatures (put palm on top of touchpad for a few seconds to warm it up)

    2) wind current, as from a fan in the room (redirect fan)

Flawless solution: use USB/Bluetooth mouse.

Yeah, I had issues like lovelaptops.

It would enter this weird erratic mode where the cursor would jump to the top right corner whenever I tapped once (to left click). Rebooting fixed it. It happened once every month or so (with my low use of Z12).

Yeah, I'm getting this issue as well and it's driving me nuts.

edit: I'm going to try the latest Synaptics drivers and see if I have any better luck. T_T

I found the combination of these two pretty much cured the problem, though I'm not quite sure why:

    1) TwoFingerScroll_1_0_6.zip - two-finger-scroll - TwoFingerScroll 1.0.6 - Two finger gestures for Synaptics TouchPads on Windows - Google Project Hosting
(this not only gives you smooth scrolling and accurate pointing, but it gives you two finger scrolling to boot

    2) smooth wheel add on for Firefox

I didn't get as much of a benefit using various smooth scroll extensions in Chrome, and I don't use IE. Worth a try.

I had installed touchpad drivers from Synaptics, but this did not cure my sometimes erratic touchpad.

    Good luck.
