Silly question i just got my docking station in the mail and quickly threw together a monitor and lcd to try it out (my home office isn't ready yet) i guess i have to change the close lid settings to not sleep if i want to use the dock with the lid closed? Anyway its smart enough to know to sleep if lid closed and not docked but stay alive if docked and lid closed?

If it's docked and in sleep mode, and you press the power button, does it wake up? That's how I have my ThinkPad set up, it's not smart enough to know not to go to sleep when you close the lid while docked, but you can just press the power button to wake it up.

I use the dock and programmed the unit to not go to sleep when powered. You can dock with the unit open and then close the lid or if it is already closed and in sleep mode, you can dock and power it on. My main complaint with the dock is the lack of audio output to the external powered speakers. After docking, I need to connect the speakers to the audio out in the front of the laptop.
