    Vaio Z11 random color/brightness change?

    This has been happening for a while but only now am I seeking a solution.

    Maybe once every couple days, while in use, my screen will become dimmer and the colors will become very washed out. It looks the same as when I change the color settings from True Color (32 bit) to High Color (16 bit) It's a gradual (3-5 sec) change. It stays this way for about 20 seconds and gradually goes back to normal. I think it only occurs when I'm running on battery but I'm not sure.

    I checked all my power settings and all power schemes have 32 bit color listed for battery and plugged in.

    EDIT: Found a power management update that supposedly fixes this exact problem ( http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VPCZ116GXS&upd_id=5902&os_id=47) but when I attempt to run it, it states that I am fully updated.

    Any ideas?

    I have the same problem - but it occurs rarely with my Z11 (once every few weeks or so)

    I got used to it :(

    It's the intel display power saving technology. Disable it.
