I'm about to purchase a Vaio Z (sweeet!), with a config from the Sony website. They advertise the extended battery, but is that the VGP-BPL11 / S11 or X11?

    here are the batteries.

I would think it's the middle ground battery, the X11 being some kind of special James Bond-type add on, but I'd like a confirmation if anyone is able to provide. I tried to contact their support but it's just not getting through.

Furthermore, are these all compatible with the VGPCKZ2.AE case? Looks perfect for my needs.

BTW if anyone could confirm that two of the main problems of the Z11 has been fixed in some way :

    - Battery Drain.
    - TRIM support.

I'm still reading a lot about those issues.

    Thanks.

The extended battery for the new Z is VGP-BPL20, not any of the ones in your post.

Trim is not supported by the intel drivers in RAID mode at present.

However, I have spent some time investigating trim & garbage collection, flash storage and filing systems, how they interact and how I would go about programming such a feature if I were writing the firmware for the drives (I have been programming for 25 years & have written filesystems etc.).

My conclusion? You don't need trim if you have background garbage collection in the SSD. Not only do you not need it but if you ever want to be able to undelete the irreplaceable photos you just accidentally deleted then you'll want to turn it off! As I have now done on all my other systems.

It looks like TZ series, the Z series with the 6 cells battery weight around 1.3x - 1.5xKG, and Z series didn't have small battery(3 cells).
