Hello there guys!
I've had my laptop for about two months now (been in repair for three weeks though), it's a brand new Z13M9E.
I'm starting to get a bit worried about the power adapter. While watching a few hours of 1080p content on speed mode with the plug in the thing gets extremely hot. And not just hot, really really hot. I can't touch it for more than three seconds and I think I burned my thumb slightly by picking it up and moving it.
Is this really normal? I know these things can get warm, but this is actually quite scary... Any ideas? Thanks!
Ambroos
Edit: oh yeah, the adapter is the regular VGP-AC19V32, laptop battery is the standard one (looks like two round bars stitched together)...

As far as I remember, my AC adapter never gets more that a little bit warm even when I'm stress testing the CPU and GPU. I've got a Z11 w/standard battery and 900p screen.

That's... weird.
Now that I've just been browsing with the Intel graphics and silent mode on it became much cooler, but when I'm watching 1080p video it always gets this hot for me... -
mine just gets warm. I think it depends on where your adapter is. Mine happens to be on my desk, but it should be hot for those leaving their adapters on the carpet.

I've never been burnt but mine can get quite hot. I like that actually lol !
I've a bad blood circulation and it helps me a lot to keep my feet warm -
It's not supposed to get too steamy, but if you're charging the battery while also putting load on the system, then that all contributes to heat.
Put it under the desk and put your bare feet on it. It helps the flow of chi. -

Mine gets really warm too. Don't worry about it. The solder will melt and turn it off before it bursts into flame. I had a Thinkpad adapter do just that. The case did melt onto the tile though.

I've got the same model. No issues with the PSU. Its cold to the touch. I think you may have a faulty PSU.
