    Vaio Z1VA processor noise

    whenever there's an activity with the processor, the notebook makes excessive clicking noise. any ideas? thanks.

    It seems like its the hard disk and not the processor. processors contain no moving poarts, so any noise that is generated, come from something else. If there was any noise from the procesosr, it would sound like a buzzing. The hard disk makes the noise whe data is read or written onto the platter, which causes the arm to move and generate the sound. It is something that can e fixed by purchasing a new hard disk.

    Back up important files NOW!!! If you are indeed having a clicking noise from your hard drive it will be sooner than later that it fails... I would encourage you to also check your DVD Burner as it may be clicking too...
