Every time I press the button to disengage my docking station, i get a popup error saying something/amdkmpap driver is still connected. Something like that.

    Tells me not to proceed.

    Suggestions?

Should be 2 windows popping up. On the other windows where it asks if you want to continue (yes or no), click yes. Then it will undock.

Make sure you have all your browsers closed. Most use GPU acceleration these days.

The entire prompt logic for undocking is fairly frustrating, just pull it if you need to unplug quickly. If the blue light stays on after removing, you can power cycle the PMD to clear it.

My major niggle is removing the PMD while the machine is sleeping and with the screen closed. The machine will wake, but not go back to sleep. If it does go back to sleep, it is based on your power management settings not the fact that the screen is closed. Ideally, it should wake, complete the undocking procedure, then sleep again.

I've taken to shutting the machine down to avoid this problem. If anybody knows of a better way, lemme know.

Yes two popups appear. But my brain says something is wrong if I am getting popup errors telling me I can not or should not proceed. This can't be correct, or something should be done to address / fix it. Do you guys just take it as normal undocking procedure?

Nothing is wrong. Click yes, then undock.

    You're misunderstanding.

I am not saying there's actually something wrong with the system or the docking station (even though it plainly warns me not to proceed).

Im saying the fact that there are popups and warnings at all, is "whats wrong".

I guess the response is 'oh well just ignore it' ....

No. The response is click "yes", and then undock. The messages are confusing, but what is happening is Windows is telling you that the driver has not been released (window 1). It hasn't been released because the ATI software is asking if you are sure you want to undock. Once you click "yes" (I'm sure), the driver gets released, the windows message goes away, and you undock.

Yes it's confusing. No, nothing is wrong.

Nothing is wrong with the undocking procedure.

Yes, something is wrong with Windows handling of the undocking procedure.

That's what i was getting at.

There are numerous threads about other laptops having similar problems all over the web, and windows releasing updates which "fixed" these incorrect error popups.

    Anyways...

Now that's something that Sony should fix for the IB Z2. More video juice through the LP? Probably not, or at least not much. But justing getting the PMD to work the way it should have when first released would be a nice step.

If Firefox is open I do get that warning message as well (hardware acceleration is "checked" in Fx). Closing Fx prior to disconnecting PMD resolves the issue, eg. no warning message pop-up.

Oddly, have no issues when Opera browser is left open.

If you think there is some mistake, or that drivers don't work properly you can always reinstall them and see results.

    Cheers,
    Miki
