Any 2012 owners have the optional Verizon LTE modem and service? I ordered this with a Z2, but neither the Sony rep on the phone nor the dudes in the Sony store knew anything about it. Does it fall back to Verizon 3G when not in an LTE service area?

I have unlimited grandfathered data on a Verizon Android phone with LTE SIM and am hoping that I will be able to drop that SIM into the notebook. I can get a regular metered account for regular phone service, though will probably have to get a new #.

I think it only works whether you have 4G available in your area...That's why SONY offers the 3G option as well...

That would be a shame because 4G coverage is still limited. I have great coverage in my home city but the second I venture out there would be no coverage until the next major city ...

The 3G option covers all the major broadband brokers, so perhaps the Verizon card can fall back to their 3G CDMA network. There was no option to have both broadband cards when I ordered.

Well, to answer some of my own questions about the available Verizon LTE wireless broadband on the Z23, looks like it will use the Sierra Wireless MC7750 module. So, this card will also support 3G EV-DO Rev A (3G) per the specs here:

Sierra Wireless - MC7750 LTE and EV-DO wireless module

Here are the drivers for it on Sony's website:

    Sony eSupport - VPCZ2390X - Software & Drivers

So, presumably drop a 4G Verizon LTE sim into it and let it rip ...

Probably won't be that easy but I'll find out next week. I am relieved that I will have fall-back coverage to Verizons huge 3G network when not in a 4G LTE area ...

^Is this card available for purchase somewhere? I can't seem to find any place that's selling it.

Great info...I supect also that the CTO with Verizon 4g LTE option comes with the Sierra card in it as Sony charges $150 for this configuration..If that's so at least they should specify 4g/3g...
