So today after a hard reset I get to the blac screen that says both of my ssd as offline members and I cannot boot or do any changes like delete or modify the raid, recovery will not work either.

    Any tips?

I was with tech support for an hour and they say I will goto a higher tier tech support tomorrow.

I don't have a Z2, but it sounds like your Z is heading back to Sony :(

Boot off your external usb drive in Ubuntu and investigate with SmartRAID tool.

You could just even install windows on a external hard drive or USB flash drive if big enough. then boot from that windows, and see if you could access your ssd drives.. atleast try to get the s.m.a.r.t info to see if they are indeed broken. if not then probably a component of motherboard is at fault .

or just download and burn ubuntu onto a cd/dvd and do a live-cd boot, connect to your wifi, download smarttools and check the status

^Windows won't let you install to a USB drive.

You can install something like BartPE on an external drive, but if you have quickboot enabled, you may not be able to boot to the USB drive.

Samething happened with my Z1 last year. The only thing that would fix it was the Sony recovery DVD. It brought it back to life instantly with no damage.

We tried loading up unbunto last night an even windows 7 from USB, but it would just give us a black screen with a little space bar blinking on the top left, does anybody know how to take this apart? Maybe I can try reinserting the hard drives or reset it

Mine has just gotten this message today, instead of offline it says "error occurred (0)". and when booting into windows, it would gimme this message:
"the windows boot configuration data (BCD) store file contains some invalid information"

"the associated windows boot loader entry may not be available for selection until the problem is rectified by an administrator"

I would reset raid except I would lose all of the data that I havent backed up.
    Help please.
