PMD doesn't work in Windows 8 with the OP's method. Catalyst Control Center can't be started, and Diablo 3 continues to use the built-in Intel card.

To be honest, I don't know why anyone would use Windows 8 on the Z2. The trackpad is such a joke, and Win 8 is built around trackpads/touch screens. Since Sony has absolutely zero respect for its laptop owners, the drivers simply don't work, and now I have to spend more hours reverting to Windows 7.

I've found a slightly better trackpad driver for use in Windows 8, but it's still not perfect. I think the Windows 8 gestures are too easily triggered (they need a narrower "border" in which to activate I think) but I've not found a way to adjust these yet.

I've detailed a Clean Install walkthrough for anyone interested at the Windows 8 Experience thread here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/son...4552-vaio-z2-owners-windows-8-experience.html

My Win 8 install seems to be working fine, except one problem. Whenever the notebook goes to sleep mode and returns, the Sony Smart Network WiFi is turned off. Anyone know how to fix this? It's quite cumbersome to have to turn on WiFi each time I open my notebook after sleep or hibernation.

For people with installation from scratch which have problems with Smart Network:
This is how I managed to get it working:
First installed version 3.10.1.13120 with compatibility setting win7 and admin rights
BT an WWAN didn't work, couldn't switch it on, so I installed 3.12 - 3.12.0.08100
also in compatibility setting win7 (although it should be for win8, but that messed
up security stuff and VSNService couldn't be started)

edit: One thing I forgot to mention. Going to sleep with switched off hardware switch causes BT/Wifi/WWAN that were switched off in Smart Network to not work anymore until reboot (It says switch Hardware switch to ON). What helps is restarting VSNService in Administration/Services.
