Hello,
I have Vaio Z590 (1600x900 screen res) and Bravia LCD (1366x768 screen res). I have connected them via HDMI cable (dual screen mode) and it's working "fine". I can watch movies, there is sound...
However, when I view my Explorer/Firefox/Word.. on TV screen (using TV screen instead of laptop) fonts are jerky and hard to read.
Everything related to text is messed up/blurry/difficult to read, like TV is not in native resolution.
I have tried in nVidia control panel to set TV res to "native" 1360x768 (30Hz, that was max value) but no changes. I don't have option to set 136 6x768 though
What I have also noticed is, when viewing my desktop on TV, it's a bit cut-off, not fully shown (like 1/2 cm is cut from all sides) which makes quite difficult to access my taskbar icons.
I have tried to change in Vaio HDMI settings (which pop up as soon as you plug cable) 720/768/1080 settings but not much of a difference (still cut off)
Any idea how to resolve this issue?
Cheers,
Miki

For that 1/2 cm cut off (I think it's called overscan), I have a Samsung TV, it does the same as well on my TV. But there's a setting on the TV called "Size", probably different name on Bravia, has settings of: Auto Wide, Wide, 16:9, Wide Zoom, Zoom, 4:3, and Just Scan. Now, to lose that overscan, I selected "Just Scan" and the TV basically resized the HDMI input and fit it nicely on the screen.

thanks mate, I'll try those settings in TV menu, I think it's called "screen format" on Bravia. Let you know it that did the trick.

You have to do the following:
MENU > Settings > Setup > Screen Settings > Display Area
change from NORMAL to FULL PIXEL -
Hmm, I don't have "full pixel" option there. I have Normal, -1, -2 whatever that means. I have my TV set to "wide", should I change that to some other value, like "smart" or something?
I was wondering if I need to lower my Vaio screen res, from 1600x900 to 1280x768 (first below) and to set this same res for TV (in nvidia control panel, dualview). However I don't think this is normal, as many laptops don't have same/exact res as TVs, usually it's quite lower than Full HD (1920x1080) plus this also won't be TVs "native", if you adjust it according to laptop res.
And what it that "HDMI resolution settings configuration" in Vaio Control Centre? I have 720/768/1080 options available (pop up screen when hdmi cable connected). Is it hdmi signal source that you're sending to TV?
