    Hi Guys, I read many of the post about VT on Vaios, I ran Intels Processor Identification Tool, and it shows VT as enabled. I haven't installed VMWare yet, but I will shortly. Also, I haven't updated my Bios, but the VGN-Z690 bios update might be a possible solution for other(just a wild guess, I have no way of varifying).

    This has been mentioned several times here.
    The processor's support for virtualization is independent of the BIOS enabling it. BOTH is needed for Intel VT-x to work.
    Yes, the P9600 supports virtualization, and your CPU reports correctly. But the BIOS doesn't have the enable bit set, so it doesn't matter -- it's there, but you can't use it, unless you put the CPU in a different machine.

    THAT's why people are upset with Sony (and Intel, for allowing this in the first place).

    i have just confirmed that VT is disabled by BIOS and it is not possible to run 64 bit guest OS in vmware on Z690, whereas Vanderpool is shown as supported in some test software.
