It wont work like that. Your Z has hdmi out, so it is unable to accept the hdmi signal from the PS3. You'd have to get a tv tuner that supports HDMI.

Why would you want to play a ps3 on a 13.1 inch screen anyway? If your concerned that it wont look good enough on an SDTV, dont be, it still looks fantastic. I have a junky 20 inch tv, as well as a EDTV Sony downstairs, and it looks superb on both!

You'd be surprised at the amount of people that would like to hook up a console to their laptop screen, I being one of them. Some people don't have their own personal tv, and if someone else in the house is using it and you want to play your console or watch something else, well you are hosed.

Not to mention the PS3 would look superb on a 720p 13.1" screen.

you can get an avermedia tv tuner, but the max output would be 420p

The problem with buying a TV tuner for your 13.1 incher is that for 100-200 dollars you can probably find a brand X 19 inch HDTV...so you might still be better off, but im not trying to shove my oppinion in you face... just sayin :(
