    Hi!

I have a VAIO VGN-T240P that won't start or show any signs of life at all.
I think it is the battery that is dead but I don't know if VAIO:s work without battery or not (mine obviously doesn't). If they do, then something else must be broken.
So: Does VAIO laptops (in particular VGN-T240P) work without their battery or not?

My T250 works without the battery. All my other Vaios also work without the battery inserted.

Ok, thank you. That rules out one source of problem - but still leaves my VAIO dead...

Oh well, time for some hardcore troubleshooting!

Is it possible that your power adapter failed? Do you have another one to try?

Have tried that, and have used a multimeter to check battery and it still has and gets juice from the adapter.
The computer is stone dead and I'm open to suggestion on what to try next.

The VAIO is a "gift" from my brother - he broke 2 VAIO's when he went to Vegas last month and I get to play with them afterwards... :)
