and the strange thing that it start working again as soon as I log in using windows password .(without restart my laptop )

I disabled ( allow the computer to turn off this device .... in power management) and the problem is still exist .

I have exactly the same problem and thank god I have come across to someone who is going through the same nightmare. My problem has started right after I upgraded my bios to the latest R2087H4. I've been going through the forums and no one mentioned any problems on this so far, there are reports around losing bluetooth connectivity and such.

Contrary to your solution logging onto windows with password does not fix my problem. Nor updating drivers etc. The odd thing is the device is seen in the device manager but for some reason windows seem to stop using it.

In order to help finding answers let me ask a few questions to help us troubleshoot the problem.

1- What is the exact model of your computer. Is it a European, US or other model?
2- Did you update your bios recently?
3- Do you have a 3G modem inbuilt? If yes did you install other region drivers and/or Vaio Smart Network Software for unlock?
4- Which fingerprint software are you using? (Original Truesuite or Protector Suite which I prefer to use)
5- I can't seem to find a setting im power options to enable/disable turning off the device. Can you show me where?
6- Do you use TPM security software which encrypts and decrypts data on the disk?
7- Is your windows auto-updates enabled. A recent update may conflict with this device.

My problem is resolved only if I rebuild from a fresh windows image. Which makes me think that there is a software which conflicts with the fingerprint software.

Please answer these questions and let's see whether we can come up with any commonalities to narrow down the issue.

    Cheers

Thanks for your replay and want to tell you that after updating the bios I have a problem with the battery that drive me crazy , the laptop charging normally when the laptop is on ,sleep or hibernate . but when i plug it while it's turning of the battery light turning on which mean it's charging , but after 3-4 hours when I boot the laptop the battery is still empty and it's start charging when the windows start , this is never happened before updating the damn Bios

Well I too have exactly the same problem however mine is giving me hard time since I bought it over a year ago.

My biometric device stops randomly and randomly is coming back. Restart fix the issue for couple days. There is no rule to when it will stop working. Anyway here's my lappy info below:
