    Hello!

Are there any documented bootblock/crisis disk recovery procedures for Vaio laptops? I am asking this for a friend whose power was cut off during a unsolicited bios upgrade...

nobody should update bios without 100% battery.

What VAIO? Most likely it is impossible because it is their stupid policy.

To recover the bios, the bios chip has to be remove (desoldered) to be reflashed.
Mostly VPC models come with SPI chip, so the job will be much easier.
However, those shops can do this not much.
