    Hi all,

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-61211M 14" with a broken screen. I ordered new screen from ebay, installed it and worked fine.
Before installing the last screw on screen frame, I noticed that the frame is not closed well, something bothered from the low section (where the logo SONY is). I re-assembled the frame and noticed that the vga cable was not put well at its position. It went inside a clip therefore the plastic clip could not locked at its position because it pussed the vga cable.

So big deal I thought, I fixed tha vga cable at its proper position. When I turned on the laptop I noticed that the screen was completely dark !
If you go to a daylight, you can see that screen and laptop works, it is obvious the windows desktop. In fact the leds are not lid. I put back the broken screen and I noticed the same thing. Completely dark. Even it is broken, it was bright. So, this is proof that something went wrong with the laptop.

As I read here, two things may happened:
    - the vga cable has been damaged (part No 015-0001-1592_A which is OUT OF STOCK GLOBALLY)
    - or a smd/smt fuse (which flames the screen leds) was blown.

I opened the laptop but I have no clue where this fuse might be placed.

    Can anyone help?

Here it is the motherboard in hi-res photo:

    Thanks in advance

P.S. Should I buy a vga cable (when it becomes available) or would be a waste of money?
