The hard keys (Home button, volume up and down, but the Assit button still works) also doesn't work. Help, plz!

Since the kyboard problems is still showing in the bios, it`s either a physical hardware problem damaged keyboard, stuck key, or you might just have to rest your battery, Have you tried to reset the battery, below is from the 11 duo manual.

    "

If you wait for a while and the computer screen remains blank, restart your VAIO computer by following the procedures below in order. Note that following these procedures may cause working data to become corrupted.

Disconnect all peripheral devices, such as a printer or a USB device, and your VAIO computer from the network, if any.

Press and hold down the (Power) button for more than four seconds and make sure the power indicator light is off. Then, turn on your VAIO computer again.

If the problem persists, reset the battery pack.
Press and hold down the (Power) button for more than four seconds and make sure the power indicator light is off. Disconnect all cables connected to your VAIO computer, such as the AC adapter, and push and hold the battery off button for three to five seconds with a thin, straight object (such as a paper clip).
Wait about five minutes and then put all cables back in place and turn on the computer again.

From the manual their is an small hole in the back of the 11 duo towards the center on the bottom of the notebook.

LOOKS LIKE IT IS NUMBER 1 MARKED IN THE PHOTO BELOW.

I experienced this exact problem BUT ON THE VAIO DUO 13 after changing a BIOS setting and rebooting. NO KEYS worked....and the CAPS LOCK led was constantly lit. Keyboard didn't function in BIOS or WINDOWS.
Was resigned to a return to Sony for service...when inspiration struck! What about a battery drain/reset. In most compy's this is easy...remove battery, depress power button for about 15 seconds, replace battery...and see if it works. In this system you can't remove the battery without opening the case.
So here's the drill.....run the battery down as close to ZERO as you can...which with windows safeguards to protect you from yourself will be about 2 to 7% depending on how you have it set up. THEN boot some sort of utility (I used PARTED MAGIC) with NO power safeguards and let it run until the battery is exhausted and the system dies. An alternative would be to run the battery down as far as possible and then let the machine sleep overnight or until the battery is fully exhausted. To be sure you've REALLY exhausted the battery press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds. If the battery is truly exhausted the charge LED will NOT light at all!
Now plug in AC power and start the system. My keyboard worked immediately!
