Okay so I just replaced the broken jack from this laptop and when I put it back together and turn it on the screen looks like this

I think it's a loose cable but I'm not quite sure.

Everything is connected, any other suggestions?

I've tried connecting the VGA cable to my monitor, and nothing happens I think that the GPU is broken which means the MB is broken which means this laptop is not fixable.

It does seem that if you try it on an external monitor and it still does nothing, it does sound dead. Which jack did you replace?

Just attaching a cable may not be enough. Does the machine boot up? If so wait until you know it is booted up then hold down the Fn key and hit F7. That will turn on the feed to the external video connector.

You say you took it apart, so maybe something is just not right after you pulled it back together. That is unless you zapped the MB when working with it.

I hope you get it fixed! I hope it's easy....

Yeah it boots up, and no I didn't zap it when I was working with it, the corner where it was dropped was the corner the gpu was.

So after it boots what happens when you connect an external screen and hit FN+F7?
