I've tried it briefly on my Z.

Most games don't support remote play, so the program itself was kind of useless, however I can use the Vaio as a wireless keyboard for the PS3.

Do you have put them on the same home network?

Upon trying to connect my Vaio with my PS3, I seem to get the following error:

Device registration was stopped because an unexpected error occurred (0x8004c823)

I've tried everything: Putting both on the same LAN WIRED network, wireless network, yet nothing seems to change this error.

Could this be due the recent PSN outage, effecting connectivity now?

It's extremely frustrating and I'm pulling my hair out here.

If anyone could help, I would be extremely grateful.

    Thanks!

I don't think it should be related to the outage. This thread reminded me to try it on my new unit (received beginning of April) and it worked just fine the other day. My Vaio is wired and the PS3 (1st generation, 60GB) is wireless.

My Vaio picks up the PLAYSTATION (R) 3 network, yet after that it encounters the error. It's almost as if the Vaio is having trouble actually gaining full access to the PlayStation created network.

I've turned off all my firewalls just to make sure. Yet the problem remains.

    Thoughts?

Possibly try going to playstation.com and looking for that error code in their Remote Play or Help sections.

Thanks for speedy response, but those sections don't mention it.

I played around with this function again and this time was able to get an error code. Don't ask me why I didn't write it down, but frankly I didn't. :p

So, to clarify, did you successfully "pair" the two systems with the eight digit code that was given from the PS3?

This morning I switched the Remote Play Settings to enable the system to turn on through the internet, basically meaning that my Vaio can turn it on. The first time I tried Remote Play from there it gave me the error, at which point I hit the PS button on my controller and tried connecting again; it worked that time. Second attempt from a full system (PS3) shutdown and the Remote Play worked without a hitch.

I triple-checked the numbers, and they are correct. The annoying part is that it was working last month when I checked, now all of sudden it dosen't.
