    Hello.

I am working on a Vaio T (VGN-T1XP/L) that had BSOD problems. I repaired the XP Pro installation and reinstalled the wireless drivers because they were corrupt. I have noticed that when I unplug the power adapter, the notebook still thinks it is being charged. The system tray icon still shows that it is on AC power and I can't access the battery status window which is normally available in XP.

Booting it up while only using the battery still shows that it is on AC power. I think that part of the OS might still be corrupt or missing because Control Panel > Display > Screen Saver (tab) > Power > Advanced (tab) only lists the option to always show the icon on the taskbar. I will check Add/Remove Windows Components to see if I can reinstall part of the OS that controls the power options but I don't think there is anything like that in there. Does anyone have any ideas for me to try?

    Thanks for any help.

I managed to resolve this by repairing Windows XP again.
