    I currently have 1 gb. In what ways will 2 gb boost the system? at the moment task manager says only 61 percent of ram is being used. thx

    It will probably lower you RAM use and speed up opening times of many applications. Overall you will get a better performance.

    It will make your system much faster . fade to black is correct it will make opening programs much faster . It will give you ability to install more programs in the computer.

    yup agreed, I recently upgraded to 2GB of ram and i am enjoying it very much :p

    Not as much as the ability to install, but more like the possibility to use more at the same time.
