Hi, I bought a Vaio VPCEA16FG and after 3 months or so it's giving me some problems. Please bare with me.
For some reason Win7 keeps detecting the built in webcam (At first I was guessing, all I hear is that "ding" sound Windows makes when you forcefully disconnect a usb device).
When I entered Device Manager the devices list keeps refreshing itself non-stop along with that "ding" sound.
The Sound goes away when I disabled the webcam BUT the devices list continues to refresh itself.
You would think that there are some loose wires but the weird thing is the problems goes away when I use the webcam (video chatting). The webcam green light and video picture never blanks out for a second.
There's virtually no phone support @ where I live from sony and I just want to make sure it's not a hardware problem and hopefully just some driver fault before sending it in.
The webcam is listed as a generic named "USB 2.0 Camera" and looking at Sony's website there is no specific driver for it.
I'm stumped...what should I do next.
Thanks

Anyone?
To recap:
- Device Manager refreshes as it would when detecting a new hardware. In this case it refreshes forever.
- Windows makes that "ding" sound you hear when you forcefully disconnected an usb device. It "dings" every time device manager refreshes (see above).
- Disabling the camera in device manager stops the "ding" sound. BUT device manager is still in refresh loop.
Weird thing is:
- Ding sound goes away when using the camera (for video chatting, etc.). The camera works flawlessly, it never dies even for a second during a long skype session.
