Hi guys, I have been looking for a solution here went thru many posts but couldn't find a solution - therefore I post it as a new one. Sorry if that is not a place or I missed the post with the possible solution.

Model VPCZ12X9E – 6GB RAM, 2x64GB Toshiba SSD, total of 128GB in RAID
ISSUE: cannot do a Windows 7, 8.1, 32 or 64 system fresh install neither cannot do a recovery into factory settings from a hidden partition.

I have been using a vgn z570n model for 7+ years (loved it), until last week when it died. Being a true vaio z lover I decided to buy a newer model asap. What was immediately available was vpcz12X9E (with German keyboard…), but ok that is not a big issue.

The laptop came with installed Win 7 32, and up till now I haven’t noticed any trouble – works just fine.

I do not like to work on system installed by a previous owner (not sure of it’s really clean? install), however, and immediately after receiving it wanted to fresh install Win 8.1 64 which was the system I had been using on my previous vaio. Tried to load Windows from finger drive or CD – neither of these attempts worked...

Being more sppecific - when I tried to load Win 7 (both 32 and 64) I could see that “Files had been loaded”. Shortly after “Windows is starting” shows up and 4 color points should also have showed up turning and changing into 4 small windows being put together into a bigger window...However, after only the second color point showed up - all freezes. After disconnecting power Windows 7 32 starts to load without any issue and laptop works just fine.

When I tried to load win 8.1 (32 or 64) - I get a blue window (indicating that files were being loaded?), and when I hoped Windows would have started I got a frozen screen for a short moment and BSOD shortly after, with no indication what may have caused the trouble. After I disconnect power – the Win7 32 starts to load and laptop works normally.

I also tried to do a system recovery from a hidden partition, but it does not work either – same issues as if I tried to load Win 7 – freezes with two color points which were about to start changing into a window…

When entered RAID configuration (CTRL+I) - after bios before system loaded - I got 4th option ie “4.Recovery Volume Option” greyed our…and other specs: “Strip 128kb, size 119,2 GB, status normal (in green) and bootable – yes…”.

System which works fine ie Win 7 32 had been installed in October last year and the laptop came only last week with a dead battery – do not know for how long that happened (important?).

I was thinking to safe delete the ssd drive, wanted to try to do it with PartedMagic, but when the files started to load the laptop suddenly turned off and restarted – happened a few times and I could not load that software at all…
I also installed the latest RST driver for the working Win 7 32 but it did not solve the issue.

What causes blocking the fresh install and / or factory settings recovery from a hidden partition, please, and how to solve the issue? Your help and guidance will be very much appreciated. Thanks.
