Choice between most entry-level SZ at or W7J for $1400. Any suggestions? Biggest downside, IMO, is battery life on W7J. Any others?
-
At $1400, definetly the W7J, because it is much better equipped than a SZ at the same price. If you have an 1800+ budget, then the SZ is same specs with better batt life, so that is better.
-
with machines that are specd the same the w7j is cheaper and probably the same quality if not better. so if you compare entry level sz's to the w7 the you would be paying more for a lesser specd machine and really just paying for the sony name (bloatware and all)
if you like how the w7j looks and can live with the battery life then the w7j wins. -
For $1400 the W7j offers more bang for your buck. If you have more money to spend then the SZ is good.

max ram capacity for w7j is 1.5gigz
max ram capacity for sz is 2gigz
w7j > sz video card
w7j < sz batt life
w7j > sz price
also sz has biometric finger print reader, for fun!
-
Aren't the graphics cards the same?
-
honestly, tho, who needs more than 1.5G of RAM?
has anyone seen the w7j in person? How does it look aesthetically? -
if u need to use a port replicator, go with the SZ. there is none available for the W7J.
-
port replicator
What is this? -
it basically boils down to price, batt life, and aesthetics
i think the premium sony sz looks better than the w7j but the basic sony sz does not
sz def has better battery life
so if its basic sz vs w7j....id go w7j
if its premium sz vs w7j....im not sure the extra 600 dollars is worth the extra hour and minor upgrades in looks and size... -
IMO basic looks pretty much the same as premium only real difference is casing, color, and weight.
-
If Im correct W7J doesnt have a fingerprint reader...
Verdict on SZ vs. Asus W7J?
